Donnie aka MEZ is an abstract artist whose work lives at the intersection of street culture and fine art. Every piece starts with raw canvas, real paint, and no formulas.

Donnie is a multidisciplinary artist from Buffalo, New York, whose work bridges painting, music production, fashion, photography and design. His creative path began in childhood, turning ordinary materials—like brown paper grocery bags—into canvases for imaginative worlds. That practice of inventiveness continues to push his art today. Influenced by comic book illustration, hip-hop, and graffiti, Donnie’s visual language merges bold lines, vibrant color, and expressive movement. He began painting while living in Singapore, studying oil techniques before evolving toward acrylics for their spontaneity and flow. His approach is improvisational and intuitive, drawing parallels to jazz—a balance of rhythm, instinct, and exploration. Donnie’s art is equally shaped by his experiences traveling, his love for architecture, and the enduring creative legacy of his late mother, a creator, a seamstress and maker. Using many of her original art supplies, he continues to honor her influence through his process. Each piece becomes both a personal meditation and a reflection of a lifelong journey through creativity, culture, and emotion.
